Love, Sex and Marriage Q & A

This weekend as part of the message, I will be doing some Q and A at the end. So far the questions have been amazing! I am really looking forward to that aspect of the service, and I think you will find it engaging as well. If you want to submit a question you can at www.timberlakechurch.com

Great Weekend

It was a great weekend at Timberlake! We launched both a new series Love, Sex and Marriage as well as our new campus in Issaquah. We also spent time remembering the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Way to go to a great team of volunteers and staff that welcomed a 100 guests this weekend. You are appreciated and your investment for the sake of Christ is making an impact.

Mid Summer Update

I have been taking a break from my even infrequent blog posts this summer, but thought it would be a good time for an update.

Timberlake is Rocking - We are seeing God work in powerful ways this summer at church. Our attednance is up over 20% and we are hearing amazing stories of life change. 550 kids went to our Vacation Bible School with over a 100 decisions for Christ. Our first two preview services for our Issaquah campus had over 200 people each with 239 people coming out in the rain to our church in the park preview service. There is a lot more to say, but I want to let you know I am excited for what God is going to do this fall.

The Sigmans are doing well - We have hung around town this summer and having been enjoing the occasional glimpses of sunshine. The girls are looking forward to ditching mom and dad and hanging out with their friends at school in a couple weeks.

I hope to update more in the future and that are having a great summer.

The Event

My favorite show is “The Event.” (I will tell you why you should event care in a minute.) The Event has been described as what would happen if 24 and Lost had a child. It is full of mystery and action, it is a great show! Here is the problem, not enough people agree with me. This last week NBC announced that they were cancelling the show. After a moment of mourning I simply had to accept the reality that just because I like something, it does not mean that will be true for most people.

There is a great lesson here for Church Leaders. We can “Feel” like our worship style, program, fill in the _______ is really great, but it may not connect, at least broadly. We can at that point either retrench and tell the world why it is wrong or adapt and adjust. This takes a key quality – maturity.

This means I give up what I may prefer or my great idea for God’s Kingdom purposes. Is this kind of adaptation a compromise of biblical faith. Not really. The apostle Paul put it this way, “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. do all this for the sake of the gospel…” I Cor. 9:22-23 (NIV)

Great Easter

It is great to see how God is working through out the Puget Sound region. A number of churches had record crowds and coversions including the church I lead, Timberlake Church. We had over 4000 people in worship with 60 decisions for Christ. I am thankful for all of those servie in and lead churches that are faithful in sharing the good news of God’s grace.

Big Weekend

Last weekend was a great one at Timberlake Church!  People connected with God, each other and we had the largest number of people in the history of the church.  I thank God for what He is doing.

I also want to thank you for serving, for bringing your friends and for being open to God’s work in your life.

Worship Night

We had an amazing worship night at Timberlake Church last night. Not only was it a great turnout, it was a great move of God. It was awesome to have some extended time in God’s presence through song and prayer. When this comes around again, don’t miss it!
