About Two Months After California

It has been a challenge for me to settle in, and honestly, for no appearant reason.

Things are going incredibly well. The people here in Redmond are great, Timberlake Church where I serve as Lead pastor is growing each week and at a crazy rate (we had 1400 people last weekend) , even the weather has been nice. If the UW Huskies were having a better season it would be near perfect.

Yet, there has been an uneasiness, even a sense of angst. That is until about a week ago. This last week there was a breakthrough of sorts. It was not that circumstances changed, (they have actually been pretty good), it is more my heart.

I have been able to take a step back and see God’s goodness in all the changes that happened for me and my family. I have been able to see how He is drawing us closer together and to Him. I have been able to see how He has provided in so many ways. So, now instead of worrying so much about what is next, I am learning to take a step back and enjoy what is now.

Cool insight. Sometimes the “next right step” is to pause and take a step back.

Makes me think of Matthew 6:34
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” [msg]

It is a cool work that God is doing in ALL of us. I hope we pause to share with you, Pastor, that each week, each service, folks are RETURNING to Timberlake after being away – in some cases – for years. Thank you for being our shepherd. You are an answer to a lot of prayers, Sigman family.

well said Ben. sometimes just need to Pause. I’m going to take that advice now and think about God’s faithfulness. Thanks for that.
