I have received a number of calls and e-mails from friends who all are asking the big question: How did it go on your first Sunday at Timberlake? The answer is simple, it was great! God did what He does best, He uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will.
Here are just some of the highlights
1. People actually showed up (a lot of them).
2. 12 people made decisions to accept Christ!
3. The music and tech people did a great job.
4. The Timberlake church family was incredibly warm and welcoming.
5. Some new people came out to check out the new guy.
I would appreciate your prayers in the days ahead as we move forward as a church. I feel honored, humbled and blessed to move from one great church (Eastlake) to another (Timberlake.) I am learning the key to a fruitful ministry is the Lord’s favor and the word “Lake.”

For those of you who weren’t at Timberlake last Sunday, the church was packed. I’m praying that wasn’t an anomoly. The church was filled with the Holy Spirit. Worship brought tears of joy to my eyes. I woke up this morning with one of the songs going over and over again in my brain.
Praising Him!

Hi Ben,
I am so glad that God continues to bless you and your family.
I am a member at Eastlake and I truly have to say when I committed to Christ He was using you to speak to me and my family. I accepted the Lord 4 1/2 years ago, my life has changed tremendously. We will miss your speaking, but trust in Him that we are all moving forward in and for His purpose.
I wanted to say goodbye, but didn’t have the courage to do so, so now as I follow your blog, I wish you much love, happiness, and many blessings!
Jesus Rocks – and I thank Him, you and Eastlake for showing me that. Our prayers are with you & your family.
Many Blessings,
Inga Andujar
My husband and I were very blessed by your sermon, Ben, and enjoyed your humor immensely. When you talked about pastors having that “one great sermon” they use when they have to preach to different congregations, I had to chuckle! My father (also a pastor-missionary) had one (or 2) “great sermons” that we kids heard over and over again. :)

I laughed outloud at the “the key to a fruitful ministry is the Lord’s favor and the word “Lake.” We miss you around EASTlake and prayed you’ve have a great first week at TIMBERlake – is there something in that first word… TIMBER?

Ben (and girls!),
Well, I feel like I still get a connection from you through this blog, so I am grateful for that….
The people who do (and eventually, will) go to Timber “lake” are so blessed to have you all!
More importantly, how’s your hair?
Missing you all,
Tara Noonan
