I Have a Mean Garbage Lady

So far I really enjoy our new life in Redmond, WA. I enjoy our home, our new church and all of the people I have met with the exception of one – My Garbage Lady.
Now I am not sure if Garbage lady, waste disposal person or sanitation engineer is the appropriate term for the person [...]

Another Great Weekend

Thanks for all of you who have been praying for my week two at Timberlake. A lot of people showed up, we had a large number of first time visitors and most important there was a great sense that God showed in powerful way at our church.

Pace

This week has turned out to be an incredibly busy week. As it turns out, this being a pastor may end up being a full time job.
In this midst of all of this I have been thinking a lot about pace. In Psalm 46:10 it says, “Be still, and know that I am God” yet [...]

A Great Day

I have received a number of calls and e-mails from friends who all are asking the big question: How did it go on your first Sunday at Timberlake? The answer is simple, it was great! God did what He does best, He uses imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will. [...]

Answered Prayer

The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:9( NIV)

New Series, First Time Speaking as Lead Pastor at Timberlake

This weekend I am preaching for the first time as Lead Pastor of Timberlake. I am going to be starting a series called, SPF 50: Protecting Yourself from Life’s Biggest Burns. This has been a great week connecting and planning with the church staff. I am really looking forward to getting [...]

Washington

My family and I are finally in Redmond, WA. We had a great trip up! We were able to see some friends, process this next step in our lives and have some great family time.
We have not landed place to live yet, but we have a house on the line that we all really like. [...]

On the Road – Guest Speaker at Southlake Church

Tonight I spoke at Southlake Church in West Linn, Or. What a great group of people! They even appreciated, (or tolerated), my sense of humor. It was very encouraging to talk with people after the service and hear the great things that God has done in their lives through the ministry of [...]

Four Things I Learned on the Road Today!

1. Traveling is a great time to talk to your kids (They are trapped).2. Check out the hotel room, before you check in (or bring air freshener)3. I need to spend more time just looking at and enjoying God’s Creation.4. If I give up being a pastor, I will not become a trucker.

On Our Way

Today we had the opportunity to connect with some old friends in Santa Barbara. God has given us a great trip so far, not a single family fight. (It could be that we are driving in different cars).
