Today was one of the best days of my life. It isn’t because I have finished that book I have been talking about writing for a few years, or that I won the lottery, or saw a new episode of “24″ or “Lost”. It’s because of a phone call.
My oldest daughter called me from Junior High camp at Forrest Home where she’s spending the week with our church youth group. She is having the time of her life, growing in her love for Jesus and moving from a shy girl to a confident young woman. I love her with all my heart and more than anything I love what God is doing in her.
Neither my wife nor I come from Christian families and so we have been trying to do our best, relying on God’s Word and God’s Grace to raise our girls to love the Lord. I know we have a lot ahead for us as we tread with fear and trembling into the teenage years, but today, I am hopeful…Today I am thankful…Today I am one proud Dad!

Great parents!!
Watching that daughter of yours this week – I was very impressed with you and Terri. She is an amazing girl – has a heart for God, is full of respect for others, committed to what is right, and genuinely kind to everyone. She also has quite the quick wit and great sense of humor… wondering where that came from.
That’s awesome Ben!
I love you Daddy! thanks for writing about me. You have helped me so much get to this point in my walk with Christ.
