This week I am enjoying the first week of my sabbatical and wrapping up a class that I have been teaching at Rockbridge Seminary, Developing an Effective Team.
Rockbridge is something that I am really excited to be a part of, mostly for what it means in terms of helping people prepare for effective ministry, while doing effective ministry. It is the first seminary that I have seen that combines good theology and state of the art ministry practice. I don’t say that because I teach there; it is why I have chosen to teach there.
I became acquainted with Rockbridge about four years ago while doing a workshop at a Purpose Driven Church Seminar at Saddleback Church. Rockbridge said they were out to reengineer seminary education, something that really peaked my interest. It is fully online and outcome-based which means that people need to not only pass tests but develop competency in ministry areas. If you are interested in taking your next step in ministry as a staff person or volunteer, I encourage you to check out www.rockbridgeseminary.org.
