This weekend at EastLake Church, I am kicking off a new message series on prayer. While I will try to fit in other blog posts about important subjects, such as my favorite frozen yogurt place, Golden Spoon, I am going to be focusing substantially on prayer this next week.
Here is the irony in me starting out this series on prayer: I am not someone who naturally gravitates to prayer as I do other spiritual disciplines. See, I love to read the bible, serve and share my faith because they are very tangible aspects of faith. I can check a box and keep score.
Prayer is a different kind of transaction. It is about inviting the supernatural into my every day world. The results can come slower, but it does transform my character over a lifetime. It is a place of dependence where it is more about what I can’t do and what God can do in my life. Simply stated, it is a place where I am very vulnerable and sometimes uncomfortable. It is the perfect place for God to show up and do his work in my life.

Seriously? A link to Golden Spoon’s website? Do you work for them, own stock? I will pray for you! :)
I hope you are praying that I get more Golden Spoon :)
