I am not impressed that easily, but this last weekend I was impressed. After services at church, I met a few incredible people who impressed me with their passion and commitment to God and His work.
The first person who impressed me is a man who came up to me after services and as he was thanking me for the service that day he shared that he drove about 60 miles to come to church. Before I asked the question, he gave me the answer; he said I drive that far because this is where God is working in my life.
The second person who impressed me is a women who lives on a military base (her husband is on deployment in Iraq). She had been taking the bus and then walking to the church from the bus stop – over two hours each way. She would not only come to worship, but then serve much of the morning. She told me about the joy God has brought into her life.
The third person who impressed me was the ministry leader who arranged a ride for the women who was making the long bus trip to church. She not only cared for her, but personally takes her home each weekend (a 40 minute round trip), after this single mom serves all morning.
Here is my prayer: God give me this kind of passion to seek you, to love your people and to serve you. Amen.

The commitment level by so many of the members and attenders of EastLake Church is incredible. I love to hear about the lengths people go to serve the Lord and the body around them. Thanks for that post – it’s a great encouragement.
Dear Ben,
Just stopping by to read your blog! It is wonderful and inspiring…
I have good news regarding answered prayers — I am walking! It will be so good to see you and Terri again not in a wheel chair!
